Who we are >>The Shareholders of the Company
Early time after inception, the Shareholders of the Company included mainly Lebanese and Romanian Partners. The Lebanese partners, beside MM. Joumblat, Assaf, Majdalani and Alameddine, included around 4000 small other Shareholders making out of Ciment de Sibline the largest public company Shareholders base in Lebanon. The Romanian part was represented by Forexim.
In 1978, an increase of capital has permitted to 2 large Lebanese groups namely Adnan & Adel Kassar and Alex Bouri Group to participate in the Company making of Mr. Walid Joumblat, Adnan & Adel Kassar, Alex Bouri Group and Forexim the major Shareholders of the Company.
In 1987, another increase of capital has permitted the entry of Group Méditerranée as a new major Shareholder of the Company. While Forexim did not participate in the increase of capital, it has reduced substantially its participation in the Capital.
In 2002, another increase of capital has permitted the entry of Secil Companhia Geral de Cal e Cimento, s.a. to become also a major Shareholder in the Company.
As of March 1, 2007, Secil s.a. has become the major Shareholder of the Company owning 50.5%, the Group Méditerranée owns 20%, Mr. Walid Joumblat owns 20% and the other small Shareholders owning 9.5%.
